Songwriter, guitarist and composer
Del Scott Miller is an alt. folk songwriter, guitarist, composer and poet from South Yorkshire.
Delivered with a brazen nod to his northern heritage and centred around a guitar-and voice writing style that evokes (among many others) John Martyn, Billy Bragg, Elliott Smith, Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake, Del’s lyrics present subjects like loss, class and the underdog underpinned by thoughtful, accomplished guitar playing.
In his 20+ years as a songwriter and performer, Del has supported Martin Simpson, Newton Falkner and blues virtuoso Ben Poole, as well as members of The Smiths, The Stranglers and The Libertines.
Classically trained and a student of jazz, Del has also become a respected session guitarist, arranger and teacher.
